The aroma, the scenery and the light all come together in spectacular fashion in the Eastern corner of France. The Roman relics are strewn around beautiful lavender fields, intertwined with fine vineyards and pretty towns and villages such as Avignon, Aix-en-Provence, Orange, Vaison la Romaine and Arles.
Provence is an area of contrast with some of the world’s greatest Roman settlements, as well as natural highlights and culinary delights to be discovered. During the spring and autumn months the whole of Provence is bathed in soft golden sunlight which gently warms the ground and creates a perfect climate for gentile activities such as walking, golf and cycling. The summer ensures that the vineyards are blasted with the huge quantities of sunlight they require to make the famous regional wines, and is also perfect for those wanting to completely relax in the serenity of their properties and use their private pools to cool down.
Of course nobody comes to Provence without wanting to eat and drink well! The region is famous for its fine red wines and delicious hearty meals. You just have to wander down any of the ancient streets in the towns and villages where you will discover hidden restaurants worth writing home about. This is the beauty of Provence, no matter how many times people go there they are always able to discover something new and pass on the knowledge for friends and family to take advantage of in future years. Whether it’s the memories of smiling faces sitting outside the cafes and bars, happy locals drinking Pastis and playing boules or the serenity and peacefulness of the villas in this region, people leave it with a deep love and wanting to return.
