La Fattoria is located on the peak of a 440 acre farm estate with stunning views over the hills and valleys towards Orvieto and Tuscany. The property is steeped in history, the tower dating back to the 13th Century when it was a Customs post for the Tuscany-Umbria border. The rest of the buildings were constructed in the 17th Century and the villa was used as a summer residence by the Pope during the 18th Century. The buildings have been refurbished to a very high standard, whilst retaining the design of the original farm buildings and using the best natural, regional materials. There are eight en-suite bedrooms laid out over two buildings, with a beautiful courtyard in the middle. There are plenty of living areas as well as a snooker room with bar in the main building. The big and spacious dining room is an ideal place to enjoy a tasty Tuscan meal prepared with the organic products produced on the estate including wine and olive oil. On the grounds there is a heated infinity pool with breathtaking views over the hills and valleys below and a covered gazebo for outdoor dining. The property backs onto the 1500 hectare Nature Reserve of Monte Rufeno.
